How it All Began...

Spotlight Productions began with a simple desire: to share the magic of musical theater. Back in 2007, Erin Keith, our founder, noticed a distinct lack of theatrical opportunities for her younger siblings. Seeing a void, she took initiative and proposed a 5th grade production of Peter Pan at the McGlynn Elementary School. Little did she know, this single musical would ignite a spark that continues to burn brightly today.

That first production was a true labor of love. Erin rallied her family and close theater friends, calling on their talents to bring Peter Pan to life. From crafting sets and stitching costumes to choreographing lively dance numbers, everyone pitched in. It was a whirlwind of creativity and community, a testament to the power of shared passion.

Fast forward to 2025, and Spotlight Productions has just celebrated its 40th full-scale production! From that initial group of enthusiastic volunteers, we've grown into a thriving theater family. Many Spotlight Alum have returned to become part of the wonderful Production Team.  Beyond our mainstage shows, we've also touched countless lives through our summer workshops and Adaptive programs, instilling a love for the arts in young people for years.

Spotlight is more than just a theater company; it's a home. It's a place where those who already love the stage can dance, sing, and shine. It's also a place for those who haven't yet found their passion, a place to explore, discover, and belong. We're incredibly proud of the journey we've taken, and we're even more excited to see what the future holds. Thank you for being a part of the Spotlight story!
